In October 2015, Conergy signed new contracts with Negros Island Solar Power Inc. (islaSol), a joint venture between the Philippine Investment Alliance for Infrastructure (PINAI), a fund managed by Macquarie Infrastructure Management (Asia) Pty Limited that is dedicated to providing equity investments in Philippine infrastructure and Bronzeoak Philippines, a leader in the development and implementation of renewable energy projects to build a 48 MWp solar power plant in Manapla in Negros Occidental. The plant was completed in March 2016 and was inaugurated on the 6th of April 2016.
“Our partnership with Conergy has contributed to the successful implementation of our solar projects and we are delighted to have them on board to continue the quality design and engineering for islaSol.” Said Jose Maria P. Zabaleta, President of Negros Island Solar Power.
“We are extremely pleased to expand our relationship with Bronzeoak and islaSol, and participate in the ongoing transformation of the energy infrastructure in the Philippines – driving solar energy to play an increasingly important role in the country as new capacities are built to cope with expectations of rising energy demand. With the signing of these new contracts, by early 2016 Conergy would have built a total of 274 MWp of solar capacity in the Philippines, sufficient power to supply over 171,300 homes in the country,” said Alexander Lenz, President, Conergy APAC.
“Conergy’s uncompromising focus on quality, cost optimization and discipline in implementing best practice processes in our global and local delivery centers have enabled us to build for Bronzeoak and its partners commercially successful solar plants that not only operate with high efficiencies and power availability but also generate the highest possible yields. Furthermore, with our international presence and extensive solar capabilities, customers like islaSol are able to leverage on our global resources and benefit from our economies of scale,” added Lenz.
