Two additional Philippine PV Power Plants totaling 43 MW commissioned, Syntegra Solar to date served in 260 MWp of Philippine PV Power Plants

  • Two new PV Power plants, located in Bataan/Central Luzon and in Negros Occidental, Western Visayas, Philippines, were commissioned on time to meet the deadline and cap of Philippine FIT (Feed-in Tariff) scheme

March 15, 2016: Syntegra Solar announced today that two additional Philippine PV Power Plants with a combined production capacity of 43 MWp have been successfully commissioned, making the March 15, 2016 deadline to be eligible under the 500 MWp Philippine FIT cap.

The 25 MWp Silay PV Power Plant, located next to the Bacolod-Silay International Airport, will produce some 37.500 MWh annually of emission-free solar power, offsetting approximately 27.500 tons of CO2 per year and producing enough power for more than 25.000 average Philippine households. The Silay PV Power Plant has been installed turn-key in just 112 days, counted from “first pile in” to “first power out”.

The 18 MWp Bataan PV Power Plant located near Mariveles on the southern tip of Bataan, is designed to produce some 27.000 MWh annually of solar power, offsetting about 20.000 tons of CO2 per year and producing power for some 20.000 average Philippine households. The Bataan PV Power Plant was installed in just 92 days from start of construction to first power out.

Both state-of-the-art PV Power Plants were built by Megawide Construction Corporation, a large construction company known for its engineering excellence, and are owned and operated by Megawide`s sister company Citicore.

Initial empiric power production data indicate that both PV plants will measurably outperform compared to guaranteed performance values.
